Aerial of Mt. Rushmore and the "Hall of Records" entrance - Mount Rushmore National Memorial, SD. In 1885, New York attorney Charles E. Rushmore came to do some title investigation in the Black Hills. He was intrigued by the large mountain that his prospector guide jokingly called Rushmore.
