Beargrass below Heavy Runner and Reynolds Mountains - Glacier National Park, Montana. Beargrass (Xerophyllum tenax) produces flowering stems up to 5 feet tall. Interestingly, it is not actually a grass, but a lily, and it is not eaten by bears. Mountain goats will eat the leaves, and elk, deer, and bighorn sheep eat the blossoms. They are the unofficial flower of the park.Wildflowers Film Size 6x4.5cm
